About the Arkansas Basketball

Arkansas Basketball Tickets

While nobody denies that the SEC is a football-centric conference, the Arkansas Razorbacks are one of the few SEC basketball programs that deserve more recognition than they get. It’s been decades since fans were able to find cheap Arkansas basketball tickets because the Hogs have long been one of the league’s best basketball schools. Even if the program’s best days appear to be behind them, there is always hope that the Razorbacks can return to their glory days, which is why last-minute Arkansas tickets remain in high demand among the faithful fans in Fayetteville.

All About Eddie

The Razorbacks experienced plenty of success throughout the 1920s, 30, and 40s, but it was head coach Eddie Sutton who made them a force in the SEC starting in the late 1970s. An incredible 26-2 campaign under Sutton during the 1976-77 season set the stage for the Razorbacks to reach the Final Four in 1978, not to mention Arkansas winning at least a share of the SEC title five times in a six-year span.

Mr. Arkansas

After Sutton was poached by Kentucky in 1985, he passed the torch to Nolan Richardson, who eventually surpassed his predecessor as the most beloved coach in Arkansas history. In his fourth season in charge, Richardson led the Razorbacks to the SEC regular-season title, which turned out to be their first of seven in a row. Along the way, Arkansas was the national runner-up in 1990, won the 1994 national championship, and returned to the national championship game in 1995, albeit in a losing effort.

Richardson accomplished things at Arkansas that few people thought possible, which is why his name is on the court at Bud Walton Arena. Of course, he’s also made it difficult for any of the coaches who have followed him at Arkansas to live up to the program’s past success. However, Richardson proved that anything is possible for the Razorbacks, which is why Arkansas continues to have a loyal and passionate fanbase that always believes the team can reach great heights.
