About Fenway Park

Fenway Park

Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox, is one of the most iconic stadiums in all of baseball and should be on the bucket list of every true sports fan. The venue first opened in 1912 and is the oldest ballpark in the majors, followed by Wrigley Field and Dodger Stadium. Nearly every corner of the park features a memorable piece of baseball history, perhaps none more iconic than the famous Green Monster (read: Monstah) in left field.

Best Places to Sit at Fenway Park

If you can splurge a little, the best place to sit for Fenway Park sports events is either the Home Plate Club or EMC Club right behind home plate. These spots give fans a picturesque view of the historic ballpark and a great take on the action. Slightly more affordable seating during Fenway Park events can be found in the Field Box and Loge Box sections in the lower level, with seats directly behind either dugout being the ideal spot. Some of the cheapest Red Sox tickets can be found in the Grandstand sections, but we recommend sitting within the first few rows; otherwise, the tickets may indicate that they have an “obstructed view.”

Tips for Visiting Fenway Park

One thing to know about attending Fenway Park events is that the stadium takes an old-school approach to the fan experience. There aren’t many in-game gimmicks and activities between innings to keep fans engaged – it's all about the baseball. So, don't expect cartoons on the video board imploring fans to make noise or life-size hot dogs racking around the infield. There aren’t even many places to hang out and watch the game other than your chosen seat. At Fenway, it's all about taking in the game and enjoying baseball in its purest form. The only exception, of course, is the traditional singing of Neil Diamond's “Sweet Caroline" in the middle of the 8th inning.

Food to Try at Fenway Park

While plenty of new menu items have been added to the Fenway Park concession stands, the ballpark's nostalgic feel will probably have you reaching for traditional stadium fare – most notably the Fenway Frank, which can be found just about anywhere in the venue. Of course, the Boston Pork Party, a hot dog with pulled pork, bacon, and coleslaw, is another traditional item at Red Sox games. There are also plenty of regional delicacies available, including lobster rolls and Dunkin Donuts locations that can be found at any Fenway Park event.
