About Fillmore Auditorium

Fillmore Auditorium

Nestled in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Denver, Colorado, the Fillmore Auditorium is one of the Mile High City’s oldest and most famous indoor concert and event venues ever. With a storied history that includes countless events over more than a century, the Fillmore Auditorium, sometimes known as the Fillmore Denver, lets you rub elbows with some of the greatest entertainers ever.

The History of the Fillmore Auditorium

The Fillmore Auditorium opened more than a century ago in 1907, originally as a roller rink that was super popular with the local high school. The rink closed in 1910 and was turned into a car manufacturing plant until 1917 when it lay unoccupied until the middle of the 1930s. At that point, it became known as the Mammoth Garden Roller Club, the first recreational center for the city, hosting local sports events like basketball and ice hockey.

In 1962, the venue changed hands, and it was transformed into a concert event space. With a new, shortened name of Mammoth Gardens, it’s been a rollicking adventure ever since. Several renovations and expansions later and the venue was finally renamed the Fillmore in 1999, its current name.
