About the New England Revolution

New England Revolution Tickets

The New England Revolution have been around since the league’s inaugural season in 1994, and despite their dedicated fan base, they've yet to take home an MLS Cup championship. Despite the Revolution getting started with a roster of established players like Alexi Lalas, Mike Burns, and Joe-Max Moore, they were one of the worst MLS teams during the early years of the 10-team league. New England only reached the MLS Playoffs twice in their first six seasons and failed to produce a winning record during that time while going through five different head coaches.

Getting Close

New England finally seemed to find the right coach when Scotsman Steve Nicol took over in 2002, the same year striker Taylor Twellman joined the team. Behind Twellman’s goal-scoring prowess, the Revolution reached the MLS Cup four times in a six-year span, only to fall short as the league’s runner-up on all four occasions. Nicol’s time wasn’t all for naught, as the Revs won the 2007 U.S. Open Cup. But that remains the club’s only trophy to date.

Going Backward

Things turned south for New England toward the end of Nicol’s tenure, which was late in the 2011 campaign. Unfortunately for the Revolution, they’ve yet to fully recover. Starting in 2010, the club missed the playoffs six times in nine years. Not even another failed trip to the MLS Cup in 2014 could get them back on track, leaving the Revolution still pining for their first MLS championship despite being one of the league’s charter clubs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do the Revolution play?

The Revolution have played in a number of stadiums over the years, but their primary residence since 2002 has been Gillette Stadium. The team is owned by Patriots owner Robert Kraft, so it’s only natural that they share a stadium with the NFL giants. Multiple attempts have been made to build a soccer-specific stadium for the Revolution, but none have succeeded, keeping the team in Foxboro, Massachusetts, where they’ve played most of their home games dating back to their inaugural season in 1996.

When do Revolution tickets go on sale?

New England Revolution tickets go on sale before the MLS begins its regular season. In fact, cheap Revolution tickets to games played at Gillette Stadium are available months in advance, as are New England Revolution tickets for away games. In other words, there’s no rush to check the Revolution schedule. Just grab tickets whenever you’ve got the itch.

Is it better to buy Revolution tickets in advance?

With New England Revolution tickets being available so far ahead of time, it’s easy to buy tickets whenever you want to – but there’s little need to plan ahead. You can often get cheap last-minute tickets to the Revolution games by waiting to make your purchase until the very last minute. As game day gets closer and sellers drop their prices, fans reap the benefits.

What’s the best way to buy cheap Revolution tickets?

The best way to buy cheap Revolution tickets is always going to be from a secure online platform that connects fans and resellers. These ticket marketplaces often have some of the cheapest ticket prices and are the easiest way to shop for New England Revolution tickets. Can you buy Revolution tickets at the stadium? Sure – but you’ll likely be paying a higher price than you need to!
