Those six tournament appearances included three trips to the Sweet 16 and a run to the Elite Eight in 2010, which was uncharted territory for the Vols. While short-lived and tarnished by an NCAA investigation that eventually led to his firing, Pearl’s tenure at UT was proof that the Volunteers could build a winning program that’s worthy of being in the spotlight.
